Leading pass catcher in loss
Kamara rushed just eight times for 15 yards but brought in 11 of his 13 targets for 96 yards during the Saints' 26-23 overtime loss to the Rams in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. He also recovered a fumble.
Analysis: Kamara accomplished next to nothing on the ground, but he ended up pacing the Saints in both receptions and receiving yards. The dynamic second-year back was much more potent in the first half, however, as Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips did a good job limiting his ability to get open looks out of the backfield over the final two quarters and overtime. The 2017 third-round pick finished his second regular season with 18 total touchdowns (14 rushing, four receiving) and 1,592 total…read more

Ices game on final run
Kamara rushed 16 times for 71 yards and brought in all four of his targets for 35 yards in the Saints' 20-14 divisional-round playoff win over the Eagles on Sunday. He also returned two kickoffs for 45 yards.
Analysis: Kamara finished with a solid final line after a slow start, and his afternoon would have been even bigger had his third-quarter 46-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Taysom Hill not been nullified by penalty. The versatile back was able to find more running room as the game went on, with no carry more important than his 12-yard scamper off right guard on third down with 1:03 remaining in the game and the Eagles out of timeouts. With what is likely to be a shootout against the Rams on tap…read more

Sitting out Week 17
Kamara (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John DeShazier of the Saints' official site reports.
Analysis: The Saints clinched the NFC's No. 1 seed in the postseason with a win over Pittsburgh last week, so the team will keep Kamara and quarterback Drew Brees inactive and is expected to rest several other key starters in a mostly meaningless regular-season finale. Kamara's absence clears the way for Mark Ingram to start, though it's possible he'll only play a series or two -- if at all -- before bowing out of the contest. Instead, third-stringer Dwayne Washington looks like a better candidate to…read more

Two scores and 105 total yards
Kamara ran for 23 yards on seven attempts, adding four receptions for 82 yards during Sunday's 31-28 win against the Steelers.
Analysis: Following a three-game scoreless streak between Weeks 12 and 14 (76.3 YPG during that span), Kamara has tallied three rushing touchdowns in wins over Pittsburgh and Carolina the past two weeks, racking up more than 100 yards from scrimmage in each of those outings. He entered Sunday's contest red hot as a pass catcher, with 20 catches over his past three games (compared to 19 combined receptions in six games prior). That trend continued as he picked up four-plus catches for the fourth straight…read more

Scores winning touchdown
Kamara rushed 14 times for 67 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 12-9 win over the Panthers. He also caught seven of nine targets for 36 yards.
Analysis: Kamara led the Saints in rushing attempts while tying top wideout Michael Thomas for the team lead in both catches and targets. Although running mate Mark Ingram was more efficient with 63 yards on his 12 carries, Kamara's 21 touches again allowed him to top 100 yards of offense. Additionally, the tailback scooted into the end zone from 16 yards to start the fourth quarter, scoring the team's lone -- and ultimately game-winning -- touchdown. Next up for Kamara is a matchup against the Steelers…read more

Garners 87 scrimmage yards in win
Kamara rushed 12 times for 51 yards and brought in five of six targets for 36 yards in the Saints' 28-14 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also returned three kickoffs for 76 yards.
Analysis: Kamara's totals weren't necessarily spectacular by any stretch, but he and Mark Ingram combined to give the Saints offense enough balance to notch the two-touchdown win. The 23-year-old back has only topped 100 rushing yards once this season, but he now has 13 catches over his last pair of contests and has hit the 70-reception mark for the campaign. Kamara will look to continue building up his numbers through both the ground and air against the Panthers in a Week 15 Monday night divisional…read more

Another modest performance in loss
Kamara rushed 11 times for 36 yards and brought in eight of 11 targets for another 36 yards in Thursday's 13-10 loss to the Cowboys. He also returned three punts for 17 yards and fumbled once, but it was recovered by the offense.
Analysis: Kamara was contained under 100 total yards for the second straight game and also came up short on a fourth-and-goal run from the one-yard line early in the second quarter. Kamara was far from the only explosive Saints skill player to see a downturn Thursday, however, and his lack of production was a direct function of the Cowboys' suffocating play on defense. The second-year back's reception total was his highest since Week 3, as Dallas continually forced Drew Brees into short throws…read more

Held under 100 yards by Atlanta
Kamara racked up 89 rushing yards on 14 carries, adding one catch for nine yards during Thursday's 31-17 win against the Falcons.
Analysis: For a defense that's been tormented by opposing running backs without Deion Jones in the lineup, Atlanta held up reasonably well against Kamara, holding the dual threat back to 98 offensive yards and zero touchdowns (torched for 190 total yards the first time these teams met in Week 3). Kamara was contained to his lowest receiving output of 2018, while also being held under 100 yards for the first time over his past four games. A substantially tougher matchup is upcoming in Week 13 when Kamara…read more

Scores in fifth straight
Kamara rushed 13 times for 71 yards and hauled in his lone target for a 37-yard touchdown in Sunday's 48-7 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Kamara appeared to be left out of the Saints' touchdown fest until Drew Brees found him down the sideline with a step on his man en route to a 45-7 lead early in the fourth quarter. The game marks the first time in five weeks the 23-year-old didn't score a rushing touchdown and also the first time in three weeks he failed to score multiple touchdowns. Scores twice in big win
Kamara ran for 56 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries and added 46 yards on four receptions during Sunday's 51-14 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Known mostly as a speedster, Kamara showed his versatility on two second-quarter touchdown runs against the Bengals. First, he bruised through the heart of Cincinnati's defense for a four-yard touchdown. Then, on the very next drive, he used his speed to beat the defense to the edge on a one-yard toss play. The sophomore back has now scored multiple touchdowns in three straight games. Scores three touchdowns
Kamara carried 19 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Rams. He also caught four of five targets for 34 yards and a touchdown during the 45-35 win.
Analysis: Kamara starred in the first quarter, contributing an 11-yard touchdown run before adding a 16-yard reception for a score. He added a 1-yard plunge into the end zone just before halftime and played a large role in the second half with his team looking to protect a lead. Encouragingly for Kamara's fantasy owners, he tied his season high in carries despite the fact that Mark Ingram (nine carries) was healthy and available throughout. Returns to full practice, cleared to play
Kamara (illness) returned to practice Friday as a full participant and doesn't carry a designation into Sunday's game against the Rams, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Kamara missed Thursday's practice with the illness but never seemed to be in serious jeopardy of sitting out the upcoming NFC showdown. He took on a surprisingly large share of the backfield workload in last week's 30-20 win over the Vikings, handling 20 touches while playing 72 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps in a two-touchdown performance. He only played about half of the offensive snaps in the Saints' first two games following Mark Ingram's return from suspension.

Comes down with illness
Kamara didn't practice Thursday due to an illness.
Analysis: Kamara wasn't present at the open portion of the session, after which Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reported an illness was the reason for the running back's absence. Thursday's injury report confirms as much. Fortunately for Kamara, he fell ill midweek rather than close to gameday, which indicates the Saints may clear him well before Sunday's contest with the Rams.

Not present at Thursday's practice
Kamara (undisclosed) wasn't on the field for the open portion of Thursday's practice, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Kamara's absence is a bit of a surprise after he handled every practice rep Wednesday. He tended to a knee injury for a two-week stretch earlier this season, but until the Saints release Thursday's version of the practice report, the potential DNP will be unexplained.

Scores twice
Kamara carried the ball 13 times for 45 yards and a touchdown, adding seven receptions (eight targets) for 31 yards and another score in Sunday's 30-20 win over Minnesota.
Analysis: The Vikings' defense had no answers for Kamara escaping to the flats, with the lone incompletion thrown to him coming on an unguarded drop. The 23-year-old's 20 combined touches were the most since Mark Ingram returned from suspension Week 5. The latter has certainly cut into Kamara's carry share, but he has remained the preferred receiving option out of the backfield in New Orleans. Runs for touchdown in win
Kamara rushed for 64 yards on 17 carries and added 11 yards on two catches during Sunday's 24-23 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: Kamara barreled through the Baltimore defense for a 2-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, launching a 17-point fourth quarter and a comeback win. After averaging 152.8 yards per game during the season's first four weeks, Kamara has been held to 57 yards per game since the return of Mark Ingram. Part of that modest yield can be explained by Week 5's blowout win over Washington, but how Kamara is used is worth keeping an eye on. Expected to split work with Ingram
Coach Sean Payton indicated that he's hoping to keep the Saints' backfield touches between Kamara and Mark Ingram more balanced in future weeks, Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Analysis: Despite Kamara's brilliance through the first quarter of the season, it was Ingram who was surprisingly acted as the Saints' top back in Week 5 win over the Redskins. In his return from a four-game suspension, Ingram logged 18 touches (16 carries, two receptions) and scored twice, while Kamara finished with only six carries and three catches, both of which were season lows. The game script likely factored heavily into both players' usage, as the Saints raced out to a big lead in the second…read more

Finishes with nine touches
Kamara rushed six times for 24 yards and caught three of four targets for 15 yards in Monday night's 43-19 win over the Redskins.
Analysis: Kamara averaged over 18 touches per game entering Monday's contest, but the lopsided scoreline coupled with the return of backfield mate Mark Ingram resulted in him seeing just half of that mark. Additionally, it was Ingram who scored twice from inside the two-yard line, with Taysom Hill scoring from the one to boot. Ready for Week 5
Kamara (knee) is absent from the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Redskins, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Kamara's practice reps were restricted throughout the week, but it turns out the Saints were just exercising caution with their stud back. They did the same thing prior to last week's game, so it could become a recurring theme as the season progresses. Still, the return of Mark Ingram from a four-game suspension could finally slow down his hot start to the season a tad, but it is not expected to significantly impact Kamara's standing as a must-play option each week.

Puts in another limited practice
Kamara (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice.
Analysis: Kamara's reps have been restricted in both of the Saints' first two sessions of Week 5, but that shouldn't provide much cause for concern for his fantasy owners, given that the knee issue provided similar limitations for his practice regimen a week ago. The running back overcame the knee injury to deliver 181 total yards and three scores on 24 touches in the Saints' Week 4 win over the Giants, raising the bar for what had already been an incredible start to Kamara's second NFL season. Limited by knee injury Thursday
Kamara was limited in practice Thursday due to a knee injury, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Despite following an LP/DNP/LP practice regimen last week, Kamara didn't have a designation for Sunday's eventual win against the Giants, who he ripped up for 181 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on 24 touches. Assuming he goes down a similar track this week, he'll be welcoming back Mark Ingram from a four-game suspension Monday versus the Redskins. Consequently, Kamara should experience a reduction in his 22.8 touches per game with Ingram back in the fold.

Finds end zone three times in Week 4 win
Kamara rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries while catching five of nine targets for 47 yards in Sunday's 33-18 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Kamara carried New Orleans' offense on a rare off day from Drew Brees, scampering into the end zone from distances of nine, four and 49 yards. He's now racked up five rushing touchdowns this season to go with one receiving score. Even with Mark Ingram due back from his suspension Week 5, Kamara should still be a major force as both a runner and receiver against the Redskins on Monday Night Football.

Cleared for Sunday despite limited practice
Kamara (knee) was a limited practice participant Friday but doesn't have any designation on the final injury report for Sunday's game against the Giants, Joel Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Analysis: The Saints managed Kamara's workload during practice this week, having him sandwich two limited sessions around Thursday's full participation. He should be fine for another enormous workload after handling 16 carries and 15 receptions in a Week 3 overtime victory over the Falcons.

Turns in full practice Thursday
Kamara (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM Radio reports.
Analysis: Kamara made a surprise appearance on Wednesday's injury report, practicing in a limited capacity due to a knee concern. The issue appears to be minor, though, after managing every practice rep Thursday. He'll thus set his sights Sunday on a Giants defense that has allowed 125.3 yards from scrimmage per game and four touchdowns to running backs this season.

Tending to knee injury
Kamara was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: The Saints had the luxury of Mark Ingram and even Adrian Peterson for a time last season to ease some of the backfield burden, but Ingram's four-game suspension has left Kamara as one of the NFL's few remaining bell cows through the first three weeks in 2018. As evidence, Kamara leads the league in yards from scrimmage with 430 while playing 81 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps. Totals 190 scrimmage yards in Week 3 shootout
Kamara rushed 16 times for 66 yards and caught 15 of 20 targets for 124 yards in Sunday's 43-37 overtime win over the Falcons.
Analysis: Kamara could've had an even bigger day, but he had two short touchdowns vultured on the ground by quarterback Drew Brees, including a one-yard score in overtime after a would-be Kamara touchdown was ruled just short. Still, it's tough for owners to complain about this effort, especially in PPR formats. The second-year running back has a whopping 430 scrimmage yards through three games heading into next week's road tilt against the Giants.

Productive all-around effort in Week 2 win
Kamara rushed 13 times for 46 yards and brought in all six of his targets for an additional 53 yards in the Saints' 21-18 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also logged a two-point conversion rush.
Analysis: Kamara once again paced the Saints backfield, but as was the case in a Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, his total number of rushing touches was modest. He was heavily involved on the pass-catching front, however, checking in second in receptions only to Michael Thomas on the team during the contest. Meanwhile, backup running backs Mike Gillislee and Jonathan Williams combined for just 10 snaps and four carries, with the former losing a fumble along the way. Excels in passing game during Week 1 loss
Kamara rushed eight times for 29 yards and two touchdowns and brought in nine of 12 targets for 112 yards and another score in the Saints' 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: As had been repeatedly professed by the Saints coaching staff, Kamara's touches were limited, although a surprising game script that saw New Orleans have to play in catch-up mode for most of the contest had a lot to do with it as well. Saints coach Sean Payton told Fox's Jay Glazer that they want to be careful not to overuse Kamara during teammate Mark Ingram's suspension, Glazer reported on Fox's pregame show.

May not see huge workload
Saints head coach Sean Payton and running backs coach Joel Thomas both said they don't want to drastically increase Kamara's workload while Mark Ingram is suspended for the first four games of the season, NFL.com's Herbie Teope reports. "I think it would be a disservice to him," Thomas said. "Let's be honest here -- he's excelled with the ratio he's had, whether it's the carries or the combination with the catches, as well. It's almost a number that you want to get to that he's still getting the touches that he's had in the past. But maybe they occur through two, three or four more carries, and two or three less receptions."
Analysis: While it would make sense to use their other running backs to absorb part of Ingram's rushing workload, Kamara nonetheless figures to notice some type of uptick -- at least temporarily -- from last year's average of 12.6 touches per game (7.5 carries, 5.1 catches). The team already upped Kamara's workload a bit at the end of last season, giving him between nine and 12 carries in Weeks 15 through 17 and both playoff games. In line for lead role to begin 2018
Kamara should lead the Saints' backfield to begin the season following a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicating Mark Ingram has been suspended for four weeks.
Analysis: Kamara averaged only 7.5 carries per game during his rookie campaign, but that may increase substantially early in the 2018 season with Ingram out of the picture. Coach Sean Payton generally prefers to split the backfield duties, so it won't be surprising if Trey Edmunds, Boston Scott, Jonathan Williams or Daniel Lasco (neck) sees a jump in snaps as well. Kamara carried 12 times for 32 yards and caught seven of nine targets for an additional 58 yards during Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Kamara managed just 2.7 yards per carry on the ground, but he was the most targeted Saints player on the day and padded his yardage total with some nice gains through the air. The rookie has now gone for at least 76 scrimmage yards in each of the last 12 games he's finished, and his effectiveness as a receiver has made him a top-notch fantasy asset in all formats. He'll look to put an exclamation mark on what has been a remarkable rookie season in Week 17 against the Buccaneers.

Kamara ran for 44 yards on 12 carries and added 45 yards and a touchdown on six catches during Sunday's 31-19 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Kamara gave the Saints back the lead in the second quarter when he circled out of the backfield and took a quick Drew Brees pass into the end zone for a 10-yard score. It was Kamara's seventh game with a touchdown in his last eight contests. The only game in which he has been held scoreless since Oct. 29 was Week 14's injury-shortened outing against Atlanta. He'll get another shot against the Falcons next week and seems likely to have an opportunity to extend the streak, considering the Saints…read more

Cleared to play in Week 15
Kamara (concussion) has been cleared to play Sunday against the Jets, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Benefiting from some extra time coming out of a Thursday night game in Week 14, Kamara was a full practice participant all week and made it through the concussion protocol with time to spare. There should be plenty of touches to go around for both him and Mark Ingram this week, as the Jets are massive underdogs for quarterback Bryce Petty's first start of the season. Kamara had five straight games with at least five catches, 116 scrimmage yards and a touchdown before he suffered a concussion on…read more

Expected to play Sunday
Coach Sean Payton said Thursday that the expectation is for Kamara (concussion) to play Sunday against the Jets.
Analysis: The running back already cleared a major hurdle by logging a full practice Wednesday, but concrete news with reference to Kamara clearing the NFL's concussion protocol has yet to arrive. That said, Payton seems quite confident that Kamara will gain clearance, but fantasy players should stay tuned for an official announcement before deploying the back in Week 15 lineups.

Full practice Wednesday
Kamara (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: After suffering a concussion last Thursday in Atlanta, Kamara first tweeted and then outright stated he wouldn't miss any time, per Katzenstein. An uninhibited session Wednesday is a step in the right direction, but such a development doesn't mean Kamara has emerged from the protocol for head injuries. Until he gains clearance from an independent neurologist, he won't be allowed to suit up Sunday versus the Jets. That said, Kamara has plenty of time to pass this final hurdle.

Expects to return this week
Kamara (concussion) said Monday that he expects to return for Sunday's game against the Jets, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: After suffering a concussion on the opening drive of Thursday's 20-17 loss to Atlanta, the rookie remains optimistic that a long week will allow him to avoid any further missed time. He still needs to make his way through the NFL's concussion protocol, and there may not be another update until Wednesday when the Saints release their first injury report of the week. Kamara will have a suboptimal matchup if he returns, facing a Jets defense that's been torched by wideouts and tight ends but has…read more

Optimistic regarding Week 15
Kamara (concussion) indicated on his personal Twitter account that he hopes to play Week 15 against the Jets.
Analysis: Kamara, who only played briefly in Thursday's 20-17 loss to the Falcons due to a concussion he suffered on the first drive of the contest, posted that he will be "right back at it next week." The running back's chances of playing in Week 15 get a boost by the fact the Saints played Thursday this week, affording Kamara a few extra days to gain clearance in the league's concussion protocol in advance of the Nov. 17 tilt.

Out for game
Kamara (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's contest against the Falcons, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Kamara will spend the rest of the night on the sidelines after suffering a concussion on the Saints' first possession of the game. Mark Ingram will handle the workload for the remainder of the contest, with Trey Edmunds serving as the only other active running back on the roster. Kamara will now enter league's concussion protocol testing, which he will need to pass before he can take the field again. Look for more updates on the rookie's status to come next week when the Saints resume practice.

Heading to locker room
Kamara suffered a head injury during the Saints' first offensive drive Thursday night and is now being tested for a concussion, making him questionable to return, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: A brutal start for the Saints and their rookie phenom, who is now in danger of being sidelined for the remainder of Thursday's pivotal division matchup. If he is ruled out, the Saints will have to rely on Mark Ingram to carry the load in the backfield, with Trey Edmunds also potentially seeing increased offensive reps.

Kamara had nine carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns and caught five of six targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Offering a rare combination of talent and team context, Kamara is somehow maintaining an unprecedented level of per-touch production, consistently performing as one of the elites at his position without ever approaching 20 touches. He's actually fallen between 10 and 17 in nine straight games, including an ongoing six-game streak with at least one touchdown. Kamara and Mark Ingram will both have a good chance to stay hot when the Saints face the Falcons in Atlanta on Thursday.

Kamara rushed five times for 87 yards and one touchdown while securing all six of his targets for 101 yards and another touchdown during Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: In the past 25 years, no running back with at least 100 touches has averaged over eight yards per touch, according to NFL Research. Kamara, who's now seen the ball 131 times, is boasting a gaudy 8.35 mark through 11 games. The Tennessee product is truly putting together a prolific rookie campaign, and even outshone starter Mark Ingram on Sunday, though it can't be ignored that game flow dictated a more pass-heavy approach that naturally favors Kamara's strengths. By all likelihood, the Saints…read more

Analysis: Kamara made an incredible touchdown catch with just over a minute left and his team down 31-23, juggling the ball around the 10-yard line before gaining control and sneaking through a group of defenders to get into the end zone. He immediately backed up that 18-yard score with a successful run for the game-tying two-point conversion. He polished off his day with a five-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, giving him three straight games with a rushing score.
